An institutional proposal for an existing US college or transfer preparation class studying quadratic functions and written argument. Task level would be agreed with the class teacher.

Revised draft

With 140 seats, $17.50 maximises predicted profit at $1,130, although $15 generates more revenue. With only 80 seats, I would recommend $20, giving a predicted profit of $1,080. Both recommendations depend on the assumed demand model.

Original synthetic example. Distinguish revenue from profit, then test the conclusion against capacity and demand assumptions. This is not an exam item, a calibrated assessment or evidence of learning gains.
